In a groundbreaking initiative, the Open Space Foundation, in collaboration with the Starvoirs team led by founder Mr.Bhavanandhi and our co-founder Mr. Bharathkumar, organized a transformative two-day event on Telescope Assembly and Handling in Karaikal. This event aimed to equip students and teachers with the skills and knowledge needed to transition from beginner-level enthusiasts to advanced observational amateur astronomers.

Day 1: Beginner to Advanced amateur astronomers:
The event commenced with participants ranging from eager students to seasoned educators gathering to embark on an enlightening journey into the world of astronomy. Under the expert guidance of Bhavanandhi and Mr. Bharathkumar, attendees were led through a comprehensive curriculum covering the fundamentals of telescope assembly and handling.

From understanding the intricate mechanisms of telescopes to mastering the art of calibration and alignment, participants were empowered with the knowledge and skills needed to operate telescopes with confidence and precision. The hands-on training approach fostered a deep understanding of astronomical concepts and techniques, laying the foundation for future exploration and discovery.

Day 2: Outreach and Community Engagement:
On the second day, the students took center stage as they stepped into the role of educators and ambassadors of astronomy. Armed with newfound expertise, they organized a public viewing session for the tribal community people of Karaikal, showcasing the wonders of the cosmos through the lenses of two powerful telescopes.

Telescope observation session:
The event featured the use of two remarkable telescopes: an 8-inch Cassegrain Schmidt and an 8-inch Dobsonian telescope. The Cassegrain Schmidt, renowned for its exceptional optics and versatility, provided stunning views of celestial objects with unparalleled clarity and detail. Meanwhile, the Dobsonian telescope, known for its simplicity and ease of use, offered a captivating viewing experience for participants of all ages.
